Be Kind Rewind (2008)

While attempting to sabotage the local power plant, freeloader Jerry accidentally becomes magnetized and wipes all of the videos at the Be Kind Rewind rental store. The store owner, Mr. Fletcher, is already facing closure, and now the few customers he has have nothing to watch. When one regular asks for `Ghostbusters,' acting manager Mike and Jerry cobble together a 20-minute remake using an old camcorder.

On this episode of the Video Junkyard Podcast, the guys look at a relatively recent film that slipped under the radar - the 2017 comedy/drama/fantasy/horror/arts&crafts film "Dave Made a Maze". Directed by Bill Watterson (not the cartoonist), the film tells the story of Dave. He makes a maze.

Clearly inspired by Evil Dead 2, Demons, and Night of the Demons, this one definitely has intentional laughs as well as schlocky gore. But is this a horror/comedy? A horror so bad that it's a comedy? Or something in between?
