This female specimen of the white lion pride of Rhenen Zoo is a bit restless and decided to measure her strength against a pole that has already had to endure a lot lately. White lions are not albinos, but the colour of their coat is a rare colour mutation.Their white colour is called leucism.

Giant pandas can be playful buggers, but are frugal with the energy they obtain from their bamboo diet. In other words they play slow!

Young animals are always fun to watch, especially when they have reached the age that they’re getting naughty. Feline species are a delight when chasing each other or bothering mom, but these Amur tiger cubs (Panthera tigris altaica), born at Rhenen Zoo on 10 June 2025, seem to have spent their energy already on running and chasing.
