Where did this sample come from?
This is from a stream near a grocery store near me. I was just about to finish filming for the day and I thought I'd just do one more slide. I saw a spec floating at the top of the jar and honestly didn't expect much from it. This video is of that spec. You really never know what your going to find.
A friend of mine introduced me to the genre shoegaze. Though this definitely isn't shoegaze, I did get inspire to try to make some guitar like sounds. This one feels a bit more like pop rock with a bit of alt vibes.
Music Comments (technical):
I distorted some synths that were made with SurgeXT's string oscillator. I also used this boosting plugin by AirWindows called ResEQ2 all over this mix. Lastly I did a lot of stuff where I used AirWindows Zoom at values less than 0.5 to try and expand a lot of my tracks. Using zoom like that was pretty helpful since I used a respectable amount of compression and distortion on the 'guitars', and they ended up a little too squished for my taste.
How did I get it to look like that?
This is darkfield. I used a new trick I learned where you increase contrast using the curves tool. You take a stab a guessing the median brightness values and center the contrast around that value. I think it helped keep the tone similar but still allow me to increase contrast. I also bumped saturation and sharpened the video a bit.
This video and the music are entirely or majority created by me, and you can use both however you'd like without attribution.
