Sunrise came in around 5:15–5:30 a.m. depending on latitude, and sunset about 6:15–6:30 p.m., giving those sweet low‑light windows that have been the most productive. The morning flood tide and the late‑afternoon push have been the prime feeding periods along beaches and river mouths, with slack water mid‑day fishing noticeably slower.

On the tidal side, we’re sitting on moderate tides, not spring extremes, but still enough movement to stack bait around channel edges and jetty tips. In spots like Da Nang Bay and around the Thu Bon and Saigon River mouths, baitfish have been bunching up on the first two hours of the incoming and the first hour of the outgoing; that’s when most boats and shore anglers have done their damage.

• Da Nang – Son Tra Peninsula: The rocky points on the east side and the drop‑offs around the headland have been holding trevally, queenfish, and barracuda on the moving tides, especially predawn and late afternoon. Cast metals and stickbaits along the whitewater lines and hang on.

• Nha Trang – Hon Mun and nearby reefs: Boats running out from the city are finding consistent action on coral trout, snapper, and grouper in 15–25 meters. Drop jigs or baited rigs right on structure at the start of the flood and be ready; bites have been coming quick once the current sets.

A few nice **cobia** showed up just outside the breakers, mostly for those soaking big live bait on heavier gear. Fresh shrimp, cut sardine, and small spoons in the whitewater are the go‑to here.

Down in Vung Tau and around the mouth of the Saigon River, the water is a bit dirtier with all the runoff, but the fish are still there. Anglers working the channel edges and structure found **barramundi**, **catfish**, and small **grouper** when they timed it around the turn of the tide. Slow‑rolled soft plastics in natural colors and live prawns have outfished hard lures in that murk.

Best artificial lures along the coast today:

- Small metal jigs in silver or green‑back.

- Slim diving minnows, 9–13 cm, in sardine or anchovy.

- 3–5 inch soft‑plastic paddle tails on jig heads matched to depth and current.

Best natural baits:

- Fresh squid strips.
