Six rabid college football fans are my guests.  Three from UGA and three from OSU.   They are not experts and don't pretend to be but they are lovers of their teams and know their football. Game analysis like you have never heard for the College Football Playoff - from both sides.

Dr. Joseph Richardson came from the projects of Chicago to an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy, where he was the fourth African American in the history of the US Air Force to become the number one ranked cadet at the US Air Force Academy.  He has 3,500 hundred flight hours under his belt including combat tours over Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq and had attained the rank of Lt Colonel when he retired from the Air Force.  He has two Masters degrees and a PhD.  Dr. Richardson tells his incredible story and you will be inspired by his faith and spiritual journey.   Joe has suffered many hardships in his life and had to overcome obstacles and mountains in his path.  Joe will also give good advice to people looking for success and even give ideas about how to bring our very divided country together.

On February 9, 1964, the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show.  When they did, our music changed forever. In an effort to be like them, garage bands began popping up all over America. The Malibus, from Ft Valley, Ga, was one of those bands. The Malibus made an indelible mark of their own on the hearts of many - not only in central Georgia but in other southeastern states.  These six guys, now close to 75 years or age, are planning their last dance for January 28, 2023 at the Perry GA Agricenter.  As the two other previous reunions at this place, this final dance will sell out quickly at 1,000 tickets and will go on sale soon.   I recently had the privilege to sit down with all six of them and listen to them tell their stories as they took a nostalgiic look at their incredible ride that began in 1964.  Get ready to smile and laugh - and maybe even have a lump in your throat before we are done.  

On Dec 3, 1923 Howard Underwood from Reynolds Ga was murdered by two teenagers,  Willie Jones and Gervis Bloodworth.  They were convicted and sentenced to death by hanging.  The. two were executed a little over two years after the murder after becoming like folk heroes throughout the United States. This is a story of evil, devastating loss, legal maneuvering, hard feelings between long time friends, jailhouse religion, evangelism and capital punishment.  A book, "Murder at the County Line" by Avoline Bloodworth was released in 1985.  This is the rest of the story.

Bill Whatley is 96 years old in this conversation recorded in May 2021.  He is the second of five successful sons of the late  Dr. Clifford and Mary Monk Whatley and he is the last one standing.  A retired Atlanta architect, Bill talks about his family and his love for the small town of Reynolds GA where his roots run deep.  There is something very special to hear from a man who has lived a wonderful life and talks about it from 96 years of perspective. This conversation was recorded in his Atlanta home with me and his nephew, Dr. Jim Whatley - who also happens to be my brother in law.
