2. V. 21 Days Of Intense Pain -

a. The Trumpet Judgments

1. The First Trumpet - Rev. 8:7 - 1/3 of the green vegetation on the face of the earth is destroyed.

2. The Second Trumpet - Rev. 8:8-9 - 1/3 of the oceans become blood and 1/3 of the life in the sea is destroyed. 1/3 of the world's shipping is also destroyed.

3. The Third Trumpet - Rev. 8:10-11 - Perhaps this refers to a meteor that falls into the water supplies and pollute 1/3 of the freshwater of the world.

4. The Fourth Trumpet - Rev. 8:12 - Some even takes place in the heavens and the sun's light is diminished by one-third. Rev. 8:13.

5. The Fifth Trumpet - Rev. 9:1-12 - The earth is invaded by an army of demons from the pits of Hell.

6. The Sixth Trumpet - Rev. 9:13-21 - A demonic invasion of an army that numbers 200,000,000. The results of this invasion will be that 1/3 of the human population will be destroyed. Rev. 9:20-21

7. The Seventh Trumpet - Rev. 11:15-19 - This trumpet announces the soon return of the Lord Jesus. It also introduces the seven Vial or Bowl Judgments.

b. The Vial Judgments

1. The First Vial - Rev. 16:2 - Some kind of vile cancerous sore in poured out on mankind.

2. The Second Vial - Rev. 16:3 - The waters of the sea are turned to blood and every creature in the sea dies.

3. The Third Vial - Rev. 16:4-7 - The fresh waters of the earth are turned to blood.

4. The Fourth Vial - Rev. 16:8-9 - The sun's heat is intensified and men's bodies are burned by the heat of the sun.

5. The Fifth Vial - Rev. 16:10 - This plague brings darkness and intense pain to the inhabitant of the earth.

6. The Sixth Vial - Rev. 16:12-14 - The Euphrates River is dried up preparing a pathway for the nations of the earth to descend upon Israel for the final conflict.

7. The Seventh Vial - Rev. 16:17-21 - This vial brings with it a terrible cataclysm in the earth.

Beam me up Scottie… The Rapture

Acts 1:9-10 –

9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

The Second Coming of the Lord will be preceded by the “Rapture” and the 7 year tribulation. The Bible points out the sequence of events that will lead up to the end of the world as we know it.

1 Thessalonians 4:13 - 18

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.[b]

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are aliveand remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive andremain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Rapture: The transporting of a person.

1. IT WILL BE SUDDEN.

1 Cor. 15:51-52 - 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.

1. IT WILL BE SOLEMN.

Luke 17:34-35 - 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. 36 Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”[a]

III. IT WILL BE  SHOCKING.

Matthew 7:21-22 - 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

1. Don't be shocked after the Rapture, be sure tonight - 2 Peter 1:10; 2 Cor. 13:5.

1. IT WILL BE SATISFYING.

Revelation 21:4 - 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

1. IT WILL BE SAD.

Because some many who are left behind…

However, you can be made ready right now, all you have to do is come to Jesus by faith and He will save your soul, John 6:37, and keep you, 1 Pet. 1:5 and take you to Heaven when He returns for His people.

Thy Kingdom Come… Acts 1:6-7

Before Jesus ascended to heaven, His disciples asked a question..."Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" (Acts 1:6) To which they were told it was not for them to know the times or seasons – (Acts 1:7) Was Jesus speaking about an earthly political kingdom or a spiritual kingdom?

1. Jesus taught about His coming Kingdom…

To the Disciples…

Mk 4:10-11 - 10 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, (Mk 4:30-34)

To the Pharisees…

Lk 17:20-21 - 20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’[a] For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

To Pilate…

Jn 18:36-37 - 36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”

37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

1. THE RESTORED KINGDOM…
2.    WAS PROMISED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT...

Isaiah 9:6-7 - 6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder…And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end…

1.    WAS ANNOUNCED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT...

Lk 1:31-33 - 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

1.    WILL SPREAD TO ALL NATIONS -

Matthew 28:19 - 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

1. GOD HAS MADE JESUS LORD OVER ALL…

Ep 1:20-22 - 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

1. EVERY KNEE WILL BOW AND TONGUE WILL CONFESS JESUS IS LORD…

PHILIPPIANS 2:9-11 - 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Promise Of The Father

Acts 1:4-5

1 The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father,“which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;

Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave His apostles

Instructions not to depart from Jerusalem (Ac 1:4), but to wait for the Promise of the Father.

1. THE PROMISE OF THE SPIRIT IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

  Joel 2:28-29 (Isaiah 44:3, Isaiah 32:1, 15-17),

28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

Ezekiel 36:26-27-26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. 

1. THE PROMISE OF THE SPIRIT IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

1. JOHN The Baptist said...Mt 3:11; Mk 1:7-8; Lk 3:16; Jn 1:33

Matthew 3:11-11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

1.    Jesus Taught that...
2. The Spirit would be given to those who ask the Heavenly Father

        - Lk 11:13-13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

1. The Spirit would be given as "living water" to all those who

        thirst and come to Him in faith, and drink - Jn 7:37-39

37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing[g] in Him would receive; for the Holy[h] Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

1. The Holy Spirit is the Helper, and abides with us - Jn 14:16-17

16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

1. The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment  - John 16:7-11

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

1. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, including things to come –

Jn 16:12-13--12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

1. Those who walk after the Spirit - Ga 5:16-25
2. Will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, the works of the flesh…
3. Will produce the fruit of the Spirit, because they live in the Spirit…

Galatians 5:16-23-16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[c]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[d] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Have you experienced the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, made possible because the Father kept His promise to pour out His Spirit abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior?  Let Peter show you how...

Ephesians 5:18

15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.18 Do not get drunk on wine (spirits), which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit…

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."  [2 Corinthians 5:17]

If we are to move into being an "Acts" kind of church, we must begin to truly be a new creature in Christ, an "Acts" kind of Believer.

4 areas:

Mind:  thinking, setting up beliefs.

Soul:  personality, heart, feelings, fears, strongholds.

Body:  mouth, actions of belief, what you set your hand to, the way your feet walk.

Spirit: your eternal being, your tie to God (silver cord).

"Remember him—before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the ground it came from,  and the spirit returns to God who gave it."  [Ecclesiastes 12:6-7]

1. ________:  A new beginning, a new way of thinking.

"But clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and make no provision for indulging the flesh, put a stop to thinking about the evil cravings of your physical nature to gratify its desires or lusts."   [Romans 13:14  (AMP)]

Romans 12:2; Colossians 3:2

How do you do this?  It is a process of obedience.

Know the Word:  your manual for life.

"My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words.  Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.  Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.  Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil."  [Proverbs 4:23-27]

"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."   [Psalm 9:9]
