In today’s episode, I am interviewing Dan and Lindsay from Follow Your Detour.   Dan and Lindsay are full-time traveling RVers from Colorado. They took the leap into full time RVing after experiencing life altering news. They viewed the news as a life "detour" and thus came the name for their travel and inspirational blog, Follow Your Detour. Through their detour, Dan and Lindsay have grown more passionate about pursuing their dreams and leading a fulfilling life, while sharing their story in hopes of inspiring others to do the same.    One of the traits that I admire so much about Dan and Lindsay is their self-awareness. You can tell from this interview that they make the time to process what is going on in their lives, and then make the conscious decision to look at it through a positive mindset.   I think this is a part of positivity that is easily overlooked, but SO important. You could skip straight to the “I want to feel happy and good” stage, but underneath you will still have those emotions tugging at your soul, begging to be acknowledged.    It seems counter productive to feel sad to be happy, but it’s true. Loving and acknowledging the parts of yourself that are hurting will actually make you feel a lot better.   It comes down to what kind of happiness you want to have in your life. Do you want happiness that is only surface level or happiness that you feel to your core?   It’s your decision, but you have to put in the work.   In this interview, Dan and Lindsay talk about what it looks like to make this decision for yourself. They share their own experience of leaning into the discomfort and give you the reassurance that you can come out feeling better on the other side of it.
