Newport, United States. A mile west of Derby Line is the community of Beebee Plain, which, like Derby Line, straddles the international boundary with Canada.

Marshall, United States. The former Battle Creek Sanitarium is now a federal office complex. It is currently used primarily by the Defense Logistics Agency and some other military and federal administrative entities.

Ealing Broadway, United Kingdom. Harry Lewis, led a multifaceted career, specifically during the 1930s and 1940s. His journey was marked by music, love, and service to his country, all of which played pivotal roles in shaping his life.

Los Angeles, United States. The old Bank of America building, downtown at 7th and Spring, was the Los Angeles headquarters for the bank from 1930 to 1972.

Los Alamos, United States. These remarkable ancient cliff dwellings in Frijoles Canyon, next to Los Alamos National Lab, many accessed only by ladders, are eroding due to time and traffic.

Paris (historical), United States. The Balsams is one of the historic grand hotels built in the countryside in the 19th century to cater to vacationing urban patrons of that era. Located in Dixville Notch, this is the northernmost of three of this type and scale of hotel built in New Hampshire that have survived fires, oversize maintenance costs, and their relatively remote locations, so far. The hotel has been closed since 2011, after being purchased for $2.3 million. Developers are seeking to tie it in with the expansion of nearby ski resort. In the meantime, the Ballot Room at the resort remains as the place where, every four years, local residents meet at midnight to be the first district to cast their votes in the New Hampshire primaries, quickly counting and announcing their results to the nation.

Perea (historical), United States. Albuquerque may be the ballooning capital of the USA, as this large museum and adjacent ballooning park assert. At least part of the reason is Ben Abruzzo, a pioneering balloonist and local businessman, who has broken several ballooning records, such as being on the team that first crossed the Atlantic by balloon.

Houston, United States. Baker Hughes is one of the largest oil services companies in the world, focusing primarily on drilling technology.

North Platte, United States. The largest railway yard in the nation, where more than half of Union Pacific's rail traffic passes through at some point.

Poe (historical), United States. The Sidewinder Cafe was renamed the Bagdad Cafe after it served as the principal shooting location for the 1987 film by the same name.
