As part of commemoration of Transport Month, Wheel Well in partnership with African Brain Child (ABC) group, supported by Supa Quick, are introducing the "Be Quick to Click Car Seat Drive 2024" effort in October. The initiative aims is to address the critical issue of child road safety and preventative measures around traumatic brain injuries (TBI) among youngsters involved in car accidents. According to research conducted by the African Brain Child (ABC) group in Paediatric Neurosurgery at the University of Cape Town, about 2 000 children aged between 0 to 12 years are treated each year for brain injuries, which are mostly caused by poor vehicle safety measures.

The iconic Baobab tree is indigenous to Africa, but did you know that it produces edible fruit that are rich in fibre and essential nutrients such as vitamin C and minerals, including potassium and calcium?
SAMRC scientists in collaboration with UCT have recently embarked on a clinical trial to determine effect of Baobab fruit powder on gut and cardiometabolic health in participants with obesity.
The scientists are now looking for volunteers to participate in this study, which is conducted at the Sports Science Institute in Newlands, Cape Town.
