Earlier this month, the key findings from the 2023 Agrarian Rural Household Economy (ARHE) Study were launched.  The research was commissioned by Tshintsha Amakhaya (TA) and conducted by the HSRC.The ARHE study examines the lives and livelihoods of agrarian households in South Africa, including their living conditions, employment, agricultural production, and other livelihood activities. The study also considered questions such as households access to land and security of tenure, and the nature of change within rural households over time.The brutal irony from this recent study found that women who run farms on their own are often very hungry.  These women work hard to grow food, but many of them don't have enough to eat themselves.Nolukholo Mabharwana - Seni

Cape Town schools have been rocked by two incidents of bullying , one involved a young girl that was savagely beaten outside her school & to make matters worse the incident was filmed & shared on social media, in the other case two boys  are facing charges of attempted murder after stabbing two fellow pupils at Cedar High School in Mitchells Plain.To make matters worse there’s a WhatsApp group where kids upload videos of school fights.Vanessa Le Roux, PEESA founder.
