The admissions window for Grade 1 and Grade 8 applications for the 2025 school year in the Western Cape has officially opened. Since the application window opened in March 2024, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has already received a significant number of applications. This year, applications for Grade R and transfers between other grades will be handled in a second admissions window from August 1 to August 16, 2024. Parents and guardians are urged to apply on time to ensure smooth placement. To provide more insights into the current status of applications and placements, we are joined by Bronagh Hammond, Director of Communications at the Western Cape Education Department.
