पूर्वं कश्चन कृष्णभक्तः आसीत् । सः सदा भगवतः ध्याने पूजायां च निरतः‌ भवति स्म । तस्य भक्त्या सुप्रीतः श्रीकृष्णः कदाचित् तस्य पुरतः प्रत्यक्षः अभवत् । तं दृष्ट्वा भक्तः नितरां सन्तुष्टः जातः । आनन्दाश्रूणि स्रावयन् साष्टाङ्गं नमस्कृतवान् । ततः श्रीकृष्णः तं परीक्षते । भक्तः परीक्षायां सफलः भवति । अन्ते भक्तम् आशिषा अनुगृह्य ततः अन्तर्हितः भवति भगवान् ।
(“केन्द्रीयसंस्कृतविश्वविद्यालयस्य अष्टादशीयोजनान्तर्गततया एतासां कथानां ध्वनिप्रक्षेपणं क्रियते”)

Once there was a devotee of Krishna who spent his time in constant meditation and worship. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Krishna appeared before him. Overjoyed, the devotee shed tears of bliss and bowed in full reverence. Krishna then tested him, and the devotee proved successful. In the end, the Lord blessed him and disappeared.
