Finally, the bloggers touch on the disappointing performance of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s 2022 draft class and how it may impact the Vikings’ future. With only wide receiver Jordan Addison looking like a real keeper, there are concerns about the team’s ability to draft consistently well. Darren and Dave note that this may be a cause for concern, as mostly good drafting is typically a hallmark of consistently good teams.

Football fans, mark your calendars for one of the more exciting game of the season - Minnesota Vikings vs Philadelphia Eagles! We're bringing you the latest updates and reactions from the fans during this thrilling game.

The Minnesota Vikings faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in a highly anticipated matchup. Coming off a tough week 1 loss, the Vikings were looking to bounce back and dominate the air attack against an Eagles defense that struggled against the pass last week.

Led by quarterback Kirk Cousins, the Vikings offense was firing on all cylinders. Cousins threw for an impressive 364 yards and 4 touchdowns, going 31/44 with a passer rating of 125.6. Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a big week 1 performance and continued to shine, tying Lance Alworth for reaching 5,000 yards in the fewest grade and now having more yards than any wide receiver in all of the Chicago Bears’ history.

But the Eagles' fierce pass rush led by defensive end Haason Reddick and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, who was dealing with a rib injury, kept the Vikings on their toes. They did cause a strip sack which added to the pressure on the Vikings.

On the other side of the ball, the Vikings defense faced an uphill battle against Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is a threat both through the air and on the ground. For the most part, the Vikings did a good job in containing him, but at the cost of the run defense being gashed. They only managed to get one interception and couldn’t get the stop late due to the defense being on the field 39:29 minutes of the game, which was a heavy burden.

Despite the Vikings' valiant effort to come back and close the gap, they couldn’t overcome the 4 fumbles by the Vikings offense, leading to a 34-28 loss to the Eagles. The game was filled with excitement and drama, with the Vikings getting to within one score at the end of the game, but couldn’t get the stop late due to the defense being on the field for most of the game.

On the latest episode of Purple & Gold 4 Days, host Justin Day shared his thoughts on the Minnesota Vikings' season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite dominating the first half, the Vikings lost 20-17. Day started off with some positives, praising the defense for doing their job and giving up only 20 points to the Buccaneers. He also highlighted the offensive contributions of Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, the tight ends, and the running backs.

However, Day had several criticisms of the offense, including the fact that the running game was abandoned too early and that the offensive line and the quarterback deserved blame for not capitalizing on their yards gained. He also criticized head coach Kevin O'Connell for being the biggest reason for the loss and for not doing a good job of play calling or adjusting in the second half. Day also pointed out that the offense was undisciplined, committing several penalties, and called for the tight end screen to be removed from the playbook.

Day also discussed how the defense did enough to win the game and how they showed a massive improvement over last year. He acknowledged that there were a few plays where they got beat, but overall, he was happy with the way they played. Day emphasized that the loss was not solely on Kirk Cousins and that the blame should be shared by the offensive line, the quarterback, and the coach.

In his closing remarks, Day urged fans not to overreact to the loss and to remember that it's only one game. He also called on O'Connell to be better and to stop putting C.J. Ham on the field so much. Day ended the episode with a plea to follow him on YouTube and signed off with a "SKOL" to the next episode.
