Staking a Claim.

There are times we look back upon and wish we had recognized the gravity of moment. History is often shaped in a moment, but seldom are the implications understood until years later. The same is true about the life and ministry of Jesus. Many who heard him struggled in the moment, yet over the years, his life has transformed our world.

Genesis 22:1-19

John writes a personal letter to a dear friend that gives a glimpse into life in a first century church. He gives the ability for people to live authentically and rise above hurt and frustration because they are walking in truth and love, and they live in the reality of the joy of face to face fellowship with one another. Indeed, these are the roots of our authenticity.

John, in the shortest letter of the New Testament, has much to say to us about truth and love and staying Mission Critical. This week we begin with and are reminded not to forget our roots.
