  • Village Mentality S4 E7 - Racism and Mental Health

Hello Beautiful People! Happy Holidays To You All!

According to the American Sociological Association, #systemicracism creates or worsens #mentalhealth challenges for many people of color. Race-related #stressors can impact the mental health of #disadvantaged racial and ethnic communities. One way that systemic racism impacts mental health is through #racialtrauma.

In my segment, "Let's Talk About It," The jury in the Kim Potter trial has asked the judge what happens if they are not able to reach a consensus, and they have asked if they could have Kim Potter's firearm, perhaps they would like to see for themselves, what the difference in weight is between the teaser and her gun. The thing to remember though is that the gun will not be loaded so the weight of the gun will not be accurate. There were all kinds of microaggressions from the defense as they talked about Daunte Wright, blaming him for his own death.

Of course you know that there is always music from my musical jukebox and so much more!
