Yoga practice with Caitlin Rose Kenney: This hour-long class encourages you to find balance in your body and nervous system through breath work, Vinyasa Flow (40 minutes) and restorative postures (20 minutes). This sequence is great for athletic recovery and well-rounded fitness. The practice begins with Sama Vritti (Equal Breathing) and eases into a Vinyasa Flow practice to awaken, strengthen and stretch the whole body. Peak postures include balancing backbend postures like Ardha Chandra Chapasana (Half Moon Pose with Chapasana Variation) and Adho Mukha Dhanurasana (Downward Facing Bow Pose). The last part of the practice is a sweet series of Yin Yoga postures designed to open the outer hips.
Recommended props: Strap, 1-2 Blocks, Blanket (if hamstrings are tighter)
Moves and poses to know: Sama Vritti Pranayama, Supta Utthita Hasta Padangustasana, Ardha Chandra Chapasana, Saddle Pose, Adho Mukha Dhanurasana, Tarasana, Supta Gomukhasana.
