Adhering to incorruptible truth, by sincere faith results in changed lives evident in our behavior and church unity. When we get distracted by what is false or wander from the goals of the faith, the result becomes apparent in our hearts, behavior, and community and detracts from the Glory of God.

God loves a community of cheerful givers; believers seeking to outdo one another in love, resulting in a generosity that flows out of their understanding and experience of the Gospel.

God loves when we love Jesus and persevere in faith, even in obscurity and difficulty.

The life of the Christian is a life of constantly reorienting ourselves to Christ. The life of a Christian is not one of perfection, it is one of perseverance. Perfection is of Christ, perseverance is of ours.

Proclaiming and living out the truth of God’s mercy and steadfast love toward us in specific ways, will keep us from moral and spiritual drift and strengthen our identity, joy, mission, and commitments.

The reasonable response to God's steadfast love and dependable faithfulness is enthusiastic declaration and tangible obedience to God and His Word. In these efforts, we continue to remain humbly dependent upon the LORD's ongoing love and faithfulness for success and perseverance.

We are a people dedicated to the King. We worship Him, find our rest in Him, and give our best to Him. This is all made possible because we have been made right with God.

When God grants repentance to His people, He gives them the desire and ability to set their hearts and minds on making a true, visible change.

Newly re-discovered, the hearing of God's law kicked off a chain reaction: it brought conviction and grief for their sin. After they were led into worship, rest and celebration, they confessed. Then God put into them a desire to be set apart as their ancestors once were, to renew their obedience, to renew worship, and to renew their service and support in God's house, the temple. Here in ch 10 they enter into a solemn covenant to change their ways. Today we're examining this concept of repentance as marked by this covenant. Next week we'll go over the covenant details.

Redemptive Communities are shaped by ALL the people; treasuring, proclaiming, obeying, celebrating, and living-out the Words of God.
Worship of the living God, directed by his Word will result in confession of sin.  Confession of sin before the living God, directed by his Word will result in Worship.
Our passage today builds on these truths and will shape our conclusion and application.
