We're in a new sermon series studying the eight points of discipleship. First we have to claim that Jesus is Lord over our lives. Who is Lord over your life? How do we relinquish our own control and let God's authority reign? How does God being unseen in our lives make it more difficult to release our own control over our lives versus other authorities that we can see. Discipleship is a journey, not an endpoint, so how are you doing on your journey?

A disciple of Jesus is someone who professes Jesus Christ as the Lord above all powers, relationships, and even above self. When a person professes Jesus as Lord in this way, they become subject to God’s power to save, heal, and deliver them.

The parable of the Prodigal Son. You know it. You love it. But as we zoom out on this passage and others that we've preached though, it begs the question, Whose "program" are you really on?
