Vineyard Altoona Podcast

In the Vineyard we have this slogan “Everyone gets to play”. It points to the reality that everyone has a God-given role to play in the Kingdom. In this message, Jeri unpacks what this means.

We are in a series called “Breakthrough” that is focused on understanding the Kingdom of God.

If we are followers of Jesus, we know that it is important to share our faith. But, if we're honest, often we struggle to talk about it. We tend to adopt a wrong picture of what it is to share the Gospel because we think of it only in terms of telling people. The Gospel Jesus modeled was not just telling; it was also showing. Today Derek talks about how we not only tell people about the Kingdom, but we also show people the Kingdom.

When asked by John whether Jesus was actually the Messiah, he responds by describing the miracles that were happening. The way the Kingdom shows up surprised everyone around. The Kingdom is full of surprises, and often our expectations are wrong. Today, Derek talks about this in a message called “The Surprising Kingdom”.

There are so many tensions presented to us in scripture. One of the biggest tensions is the one presented in the gospels that the Kingdom of God is already here, while at the same time the Kingdom of God is not yet here. Today Evan explores the Already-Not Yet nature of the Kingdom of God.

Today we are beginning a new series called “Breakthrough” that is focused on understanding the Kingdom of God.

One of the topics that will help you understand the Christian life in a much deeper and richer way is the Kingdom of God. Understanding the Kingdom of God gives us context for understanding why things are wrong in the world and how we can cooperate with Jesus to see the wrongs made right. Today, Derek is building a foundation for the series in a message called “Whose Side Are You On?”

This week is our Grand Opening in our new location.

Derek is beginning a new series called "Welcome to the Vineyard". This week he talks about how Jesus' vision for who is welcome in the church is filled with unexpected people. It's not the most religious that Jesus welcomes, but it is those who are humble enough to accept his invitation.

Today we finish our series in Nehemiah.

We all like the idea that we can be whatever we want. But when it comes to the Church, we inherit an identity and a mission. We are called to be a people that are marked by God’s presence. Nehemiah 10 contains a recommitment to the covenant to be a people of God’s presence. Today, Derek shows the commitments we must make to be a people marked by God’s presence.

Join us in person on September 26 for our Grand Opening in our new facility!

So often what makes a good person, a good endeavor, or a good company collapse isn't external circumstances. What frequently causes things to implode is internal issues that haven't been dealt with. In our pursuit of joining what God is doing, one of the critical things to constantly address is our own brokenness. As we continue our series in Nehemiah, Derek talks about how to address your own brokenness so that you can do all that God is calling you to do.
