Vineyard Altoona Podcast

This week we continue our new series "CORE", which is a look at the foundations of who we are as Christians and as a church.

When it comes to making decisions, people have all kinds of strategies. Some choose to do what makes them happy. Some choose to do what is most expedient. Some choose to do what will give the biggest bang for the buck. All of these choices have one thing in common: they leave us in control. But what we see in the Bible is that being a Christian means we have handed over control of our lives to Jesus. So when it comes to making choices about our lives, we defer to what God desires. As a church, that is to be our posture. Today, Derek talks about Vineyard Altoona's core value 'We Join What God Is Doing'.

This week we continue our new series "CORE", which is a look at the foundations of who we are as Christians and as a church.

One of the most misunderstood words around the Christian faith is the word 'church'. We all assume we know what it is, and we all have our own ideas about why it exists. But do we actually know what God intends for the Church? What is the purpose of the Church of Jesus Christ? What is the purpose of Vineyard Altoona? Today, Derek talks about the purpose of God's people, the Church, in the world, and in particular our church.

This week we begin our new series "CORE", which is a look at the foundations of who we are as Christians and as a church.

Story is so powerful. The story that you are living helps you answer all the big questions of life: Where do I come from? Who am I? What's wrong with the world? How does what's wrong get fixed? As people, we often need to be reminded of the story that we are living. For those who follow Jesus, we have inherited the story of the Bible as our story. In this message, Derek talks about the biblical foundations of our story.
