As we are coming to the end of the 7-year Tribulation Period in chapter 18 of the Book of Revelation, we see the complete destruction of the system of Babylon. God has been at war with Babylon the great city since the beginning of civilization, and her judgment comes swiftly as He avenges the justice of years in the waiting.
As part of our "Missions Sunday," Chip shares with us what God says about helping those in need. God calls His church to be the ones to help, and in doing so He will take care of the helpers.
This is our annual missions report as we hear from those who oversee the various missions Vineyard Community supports. We will see what's happening in Vietnam with the wheelchair ministry, Steve Fitterer shares how the feeding children program is going in Haiti, Chip Richardson gives a report on the water filter project in Brazil, and Kim Richardson talks about our new partnership with Convoy of Hope and how we are joining them in domestic missions work here in the United States.
As we end this series of how to navigate through uncertain seasons of life. We look at the theology behind why we live in a world that is corrupted by sin, and somewhat hopeless, while still maintaining hope in a good God, who has our eternity planned for us.
Today, we look at the letter James wrote and how he teaches us to consider what it is that we should do when facing seasons of uncertainty. We either believe what the Bible says, or we do not.
As we continue our series on how God always remains in control, we will talk about the peace we gain when we can lean on God’s Word and His promises to get us through the moments of uncertainty.
Thomas Dickson uses the story of the prophet Jonah, and how God gives us multiple opportunities through His unconditional love to align our hearts with His will. Through Jonah’s story, we will learn about God’s grace, patience, and that we can't run or hide from God's calling on our lives.
We are starting a new series that will help bring some hope and stability in what appears to be very uncertain times. As Christians, we can learn from many stories in the Bible where people had to trust in God during uncertain times. When the world seems like it's out of control, God never is!
Chip reports on his recent trip to Brazil, and shares with us how the Vineyard is doing in Brazil, and how the water filter project is going with the new design and new location.
As we close out our Faith in Action series, Chip talks about the importance of how we are to serve God and serve people. When this becomes a way of life, we are fulfilling the greatest need in those around us, as well as our own spiritual needs.
