SPEAKER: PHIL JEANSONNE
APRIL 30 - MAY 01, 2011
I. INTRODUCTION
II. THE CALL TO ALL (Exodus 3-4)
A. There are no un-called people! (Exodus 3:1-10)
1. “ . . . I must turn aside and see this sight.”
III. RESISTING THE CALL
A. Moses has five very strong objections to the call of God on his life.
1. Moses’ objection: “Who am I?” (v3:11)
• God’s response (v3:12)
2. Moses’ objection: “Who are you?” (v3:13)
• God’s response (v3:15-22)
3. Moses’ objection: “What if?” (v4:1)
• God’s response (v4:2)
4. Moses’ objection: “I am not gifted!” (v4:10)
• God’s response (v4:12)
5. Moses’ objection: “Send someone else!” (v4:13)
• God’s response (v4:14-16)
IV. ANSWERING THE CALL
A. What is it that God is calling you to?
B. How do you answer the call?
V. CONCLUSION
FURTHER DISCUSSION:
As we continue to move Upward - loving God, Inward - loving others, and Outward - loving the world, we encourage you to take these questions, get with a few people who have listened to today’s talk, and really dive in to what God might be saying to you.
• Have you been living an inverted Christianity in which God follows
and serves you instead of the other way around?
• What has that looked like? How has it left you feeling?
• How does a call to spiritual adventure versus spiritual boredom
strike you?
• What is it inside you that resonates with that call?
