Vinodh Ilangovan is a biomedical scientist studying brain rhythms and sleep using an integrative approach by combining molecular genetics, neural circuits, animal behaviour and evolutionary biology. Vinodh advocates for the practice of responsible and transparent behaviours in scientific research and enjoys experimenting with science communication through performing arts. They occasionally write poetry in Tamil. Vinodh uses Indian stringed instrument Yaazh Veenai and rhythmic percussion of Parai as therapeutic tools to overcome exhaustion.
