Many of the best and biggest names in music left us too soon.  This trip around the turntable, the Vinyl Ventures crew looks back on some of our favorite music from those artists who left us too soon.   There are more than just the members of the 27 Club here.  The list of Rock Stars and amazing musicians who died too soon is so much longer than we have time for in one show.  While these musicians left us early, they left an indelible mark on our music-loving hearts and live on forever in those records we love to play.
Rest In Power!

No way are the Vinyl Ventures crew ranking every Rolling Stones album. They don't want to do a 3-hour show, so how about the top ten. The greatest band in the world are still putting out records in 2024, so there is a lot to choose from in their ranking albums. Narrowing the list to the top ten makes it an easier task, but ranking those 10 makes the task a bit more challenging. Faithful listeners you may not agree with the Vinyl Ventures crew, but lists are super fun.

Hey vinyl crew, this week we take a look at some favorite double albums Jay and John have collected over the years. It could be Double Trouble or Double the Fun...
Double albums became a thing in the late 60s, and since then, many pop artists have released DoubleAlbums.  They can be twice as nice or double bummers.
Let us know if any of these choices made you do a double take! (Or spit take...)

Days of the week is the theme for this spin on the the old Victrola. Join the Vinyl Ventures crew for songs in the key of a day of the week. Fun discoveries abound. Some days are more popular for artists and bands to sing about than others. Some days don't get much love, hump day, Wednesday is not the most popular day to sing about. 1974 turns 50, along with some outstanding vinyl. After Rock and Roll took over the charts 10 years earlier when the Beatles hit the US, '74 was almost like a pause year. John and Jay explore what was happening with music in 1974 . Was it just a transitional year, or was music changing tune in to find out.

Jay Jay French is a connoisseur of music...a lot of different music. He's been there and done that.  From forming Twisted Sister 50 years ago, to becoming a highly sought-after producer and manager, to becoming a motivational speaker...he's done all of this one way...his.
Join the guys, as Jay Jay takes them on a wild ride through all the "twists" and turns in rock-n-roll that usually throw a lot of people off.  From his being a Grateful Dead devotee to playing in clubs owned by Mafia bosses, this is a fantastic and entertaining talk.
If you want brutally honest, unfiltered  thoughts on everything from the New York Dolls to the assassination of JFK, buckle-up, and keep your arms and legs inside the car at all times!

In this trip around the turntable, the guys share some of their favorite colors...bands, songs or albums with colors in their name or title.
As we curate our collections, it's easy to forget about everything we acquire and sometimes the simple act of figuring out what albums, artists or songs have colors in their title is a great way to re-familiarize yourself with what you have.
There are more than you think.  So hop on and take a spin with John and Jay as they explore the colors of their collections.
