    Today's Topics:

    1) Saint Margaret Mary of Alacoque in the 17th century promoted the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  In 1675, Jesus told Margaret Mary that He wanted the Feast of the Sacred Heart to be celebrated on the Friday after the Corpus Christi octave. In 1856, the Feast of the Sacred Heart became a universal feast,

    2) Brother Knight Mike Alvarado talks about his faith journey.  He attended Catholic grade school and high school, however he was more of a "cultural" Catholic.  It was when Mike married his wife and began to raise their children, that he began to grow deeper in his Catholic faith,

    4) As congregants of Our Lady of Grace Church at the Sacred Heart Chapel in Covina, Mike's family prays together and assists the Church in its needs.  His family has participated in a Eucharistic procession and is planning one for the Feast of Corpus Christi.  Mike is going to assist in establishing a new Knights of Columbus Council at Our Lady of Grace Church.

  • 05 Jun 23 – Sacred Heart and “Pride” with Eddie Brock
    Today's Topics:

    1) The month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus throughout the Catholic Church; however, the father of lies is attempting to co-opt it for a month of homosexual "pride." We cover the importance of returning to our Catholic roots with a devotion to the Sacred Heart and observing pride as the deadly sin it is,

    2) Eddie Brock joins the program and provides us with a quick reminder of his life as a Catholic man and how is faith was strengthened by his desire to be a better man for his wife and family,

    3) Eddie discusses the difficulties of being a police officer, someone who serves the public, and how it is a constant struggle to "see God in our fellow man." It is through a constant prayer life that he manages to make headway and is hopefully an inspiration to other to do the same for the benefit of society, family and out eternal soul,

    4) We discuss the importance of a devotion to the Sacred Heart, by a regular consecration, observing a devotion to the First Fridays, frequent Confession and prayers of reparation. Another simple daily activity that helps is the meditation on the Sacred Heart image and the meaning behind them.

  • 29 May 23 – Catholic Masculinity
    Today's Topics:

    1) Masculinity is the quality or nature of the male species. Man is created by God as a human person who can begin and control his own actions. He is meant to seek God and gain perfection by cleaving to him,

    2) What exactly is Catholic masculinity? It is the behaviors exemplified by Christ, the God-man, here on earth. These behaviors can be distilled to one word…. sacrifice,

    3) Why do we need Catholic Masculinity? Our society is lacking Catholic masculinity. The virtues displayed by Christ, endowed in us by the Holy Spirit is the cure for what ails our society today,

    4) How do we rediscover our Catholic masculinity? Seven practical steps to Catholic masculinity are: Mass, adoration, reconciliation, prayer time, personal meditation on Scripture, and sacrifice.

  • 22 May 23 – Theological Virtues and Vices
    Today's Topics:

    1) The Theological Virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity “adapt man’s faculties for participation
in the divine nature” and “directly relate to God. They dispose Christians to live in a
relationship with the Holy Trinity,” and have as “their origin, motive, and object” the
    Triune God (CCC 1812),

    2) “Faith is the Theological Virtue by which we believe in God and believe all that He has
said and revealed to us, and that Holy Church proposes for our belief, because He is
    truth itself” (CCC 1814),

    3) “Hope is the Theological Virtue by which we desire the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal
life as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ’s promises and relying not on our own
strength, but on the help of the grace of the Holy Spirit” (CCC 1817). “The Virtue of
Hope responds to the aspiration of happiness which God has placed in the heart of
    every man” (CCC 1818),

    4) Charity is the last and the greatest of the three Theological Virtues. Charity is the
Theological Virtue of love for God over all other things for His sake, and our love of
    neighbor as ourselves (CCC 1822).

  • 15 May 23 – Science and the Catholic Church with Federico Perdomo
    Today's Topics:

    1) In this episode, we discuss Science and the Catholic Church. It is a common myth that the Catholic Church is anti-science, but in reality, both the Church and science are in pursuit of the truth. The Catholic Church has supported the sciences from the earliest days and as a result has been instrumental in advances the sciences has made,

    2) We are joined by Federico Perdomo, who is a member of the St. Michael's Shield Prayer Group, even though he lives in Nevada. He learned of this group from an early episode of Knight Moves, when a few members of the Group were guests on Knight Moves,

    3) Federico provides a summary of his journey as a Catholic man, how it has inspired his family and his life. He provides a quick description of a pilgrimage he will be taking with some of his family, to the Holy Land,

    4) The impact Catholicism has had on science and how Catholic Religious (Priests, Monks, and Sisters) have advanced the sciences through their active participation is discussed. It is through man's search for the truth that we begin to see God in everything.

  • 24 Apr 23 – Easter, Acts, and the Didache
    Today's Topics:

    1) Easter season which is upon us and we declare "Christus Resurrexit!" and respond"Resurrexit Vere!" This means "Christ is Risen" and we respond "He is Risen Indeed!" We follow this with the overview of the 5th Book of the New Testament, which is the Acts of the Apostles,

    2) We cover a more of the Acts and then discuss the Didache (did-a-kay) which is an account of the early life of the Church under the Apostles, written in Greek and is sort of the owner's manual for the Christian,

    3) The Acts of the Apostles, chapter 5 versus 34 to 42 is read and discussed. This is one of the earliest accounts in which Christians realize and embrace the fact that they will be persecuted for their Faith but continue, knowing that their rewards will be great in Heaven for living a life as Christ taught us,

    4) The second part of the Acts of the Apostles deals with the conversion of Saint Paul and how he is an example to all of us as he started as a sinner and persecutor of the early Christian and through his conversion became one of the best evangelizers. The early Christians were called "followers of the Way"and it wasn't until later that Saint Evodius, the second Bishop of Antioch, coined the term "Christian." We also discuss the meaning of the term "Bishop."
