On the 4th July 1982, a man called Terry Higgins died. Terry’s death - an inexplicable, terrifying death - led to something extraordinary. His friends and loved ones created a charity - the Terrence Higgins Trust - that would care for the sick, counsel them, fundraise, and relentlessly lobby the government.

For Virgin Radio Pride, actor, writer and HIV activist, Nathaniel J Hall tells the story of Terry Higgins, his life, his death and his legacy. He hears from people who have their own HIV diagnosis stories to tell, and hears how far we’ve come in treating HIV in the 4 decades since Terry’s death.
