From the end of October through mid-November, expect to see some remaining fall color, but only in the lower Parkway elevations.

This is the last weekend of October and although many of the low elevation areas still have a lot of good color coming in over the next week or so the mid to high elevations are beyond their peak along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Here's the latest fall color report from individual districts and developed areas along the Blue Ridge Parkway for the third weekend of October. Remember that elevation and your north/south orientation make a lot of difference so plan to drive some distant on the Parkway to be sure you catch some of the great fall color.

It's late September on the Parkway and although we think of wildflowers as being associated with spring, this is a wonderful time of year for many meadows and roadsides to show off the last of the year's blooms.
