Traveling to a new place is never easy, but doing it with vision loss
brings an entirely different set of challenges. In this episode, I share
the emotional and practical realities of navigating unfamiliar
environments — the confusion, the frustration, and the quiet moments of
self-doubt. Sometimes it feels overwhelming. Sometimes it feels lonely.
There are moments of sadness, moments of embarrassment, and moments when
asking for help feels harder than the obstacle itself.
Living without sight is something many people struggle to fully
understand. Simple tasks can become complex, and unfamiliar spaces can
feel disorienting. Some days feel empowering, while others feel heavy
and discouraging. But through these experiences, I’ve learned something
important: growth often comes from discomfort.
This journey has shaped me into a stronger, more patient, and more
present person. I’m learning to appreciate small victories, meaningful
connections, and moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. My hope is
that by sharing these honest experiences — the good and the difficult —
someone out there might feel less alone, more understood, or more
encouraged to keep moving forward.
