The last few weeks do seem to have brought a lot of endings along with them, some of which have felt life-changing on a grand scale, others of which have been sad on a personal level for perhaps fewer people, and some of which simply involved something as inconsequential as a TV show which, whilst perhaps seeming insignificant or unimportant to many, do somehow feel very significant and extremely important to fans of a show that might have invested a great deal of their own lives in the characters, storylines, and situations that something like a television show can bring into their lives.
So, several weeks ago, in a VISION ON SOUND conversation that has been delayed a couple of times because of other events, some of which involved endings themselves, I was joined by PAUL CHANDLER, THE SHY YETI and host of THE SHY LIFE PODCAST to have a bit of a chat about the endings of much-loved favourites, and, because it was PAUL, regular listeners will understand that the ending of one of his particular favourites, a certain long-running drama set in suburban Australia, was very much on his mind.
But don’t worry if you’re not a fan of that show, because we talk about quite a lot of other stuff, too, over this particular hour.
PLEASE NOTE - For Copyright reasons, musical content sometimes has to be removed for the podcast edition. All the spoken word content remains (mostly) as it was in the broadcast version. Hopefully this won't spoil your enjoyment of the show.
