First broadcast on FAB RADIO INTERNATIONAL at 19:00 on November 21st 2021
In a change to another earlier planned episode, in this week's VISION ON SOUND I welcome back STEVE HATCHER, who got in touch because he wanted to contribute his own tribute to the television writer BOB BAKER with whom he was acquainted, and who recently passed away.
As you know, I'm always happy to embrace an idea for a programme whenever it's suggested, so we got together on a Thursday morning in November and had a conversation about the long and varied career of this television writer who worked for many years in collaboration with his long-term writing partner DAVE MARTIN, as well as his own Oscar-winning solo career.
Over the course of what I hope you'll agree is a fascinating hour, we cover their DOCTOR WHO scripts, the creation and afterlife of the robotic character K9, several of Bob's other television credits, and, of course, his tremendous successes as the co-writer of the WALLACE AND GROMIT films of NICK PARK.
PLEASE NOTE - For Copyright reasons, musical content sometimes has to be removed for the podcast edition. All the spoken word content remains (mostly) as it was in the broadcast version. Hopefully this won't spoil your enjoyment of the show.
