Here the #ApostlePaul continues to deal with working and living for the Lord in one of the most idolatrous places on earth at that time. He emphasized working and continuing doing good. Knowing that there is no unequal justice in the #Lordsjudgment. You either followed the Lord and walked in the ways of the Lord or you did not. You could not do as the typical Roman society would do. Surrounded with sin, idol worship, and other carnal lusts; it took their attention on #ChristJesus [ #Yeshua ] to make it. Everyday, working and living but knowing in it all; their faith and Lord was first.

Defend Jerusalem brings us to part 78 of Isaiah's Prophetic Book. We have looked at the Assyrian threat, which as common knowledge today; we know and scripture tells us God defeated them at the gates of Jerusalem. But the Lord used it as a warning and a message for Judah to draw close to Him and not seek after other gods or the arm of the flesh to depend on. For the Lord is their defense. So too in these perilous times, as believers the Lord our God through #Jesus [ #Yeshua ] #Christ is our defense. There is no doubt the Approach and threat of the Assyrians to Judah also warns the tiny nation that another threat comes and this will be #Babylon. To this, #Judah finds another lesson and so do those who have ears to hear.

#Defend #Jerusalem, then more to the point #mountZion. We find that the Lord is and has defended Jerusalem. Even during the time of her seeking idols of Silver and Gold, chastisement with a warning by the #Prophets were the rule of the day. Inexcusable is the fourth word in Romans chapter two, verse one. It comes on the heels of another word of warning of judgment of men in regard to the sins they openly commit in the last few sentences of Romans chapter one. Instead of raw #carnalsins in Romans one, we find that #judging another #man is the issue. Here we find in the Roman city that Paul is addressing Jews who are criticizing Gentiles. For all the Jews who had light and the #covenant, they too had sinned. Eventually, the centuries rift between #Jew and #Gentile begins when the #gospel of #Christ is readily accepted by the Gentiles. Paul will go in depth about the Jews, Gentiles, and the gospel later on. He is doing this for a reason. That is clearly the answer to the #sin of man. Whether carnal lust, gossip, backbiting, or judging another; all land people in condemnation. This is a good word for today and for today's #America. Especially the political scene and chaos.

Trusting Arm of Flesh brings us to the fact of men and nations. As Psalms two warns of "heathen rage and people imagine a vain thing", so too we find the Prophet Isaiah warns us today. Israel went down to Egypt because of the nation’s mighty army, horses, chariots, and horsemen. They were strong and mighty. Now that an enemy threatened Jerusalem, the choices were clear. So, they thought. Get help from Egypt, which marks the Trusting in the Arm of the Flesh. So too, today's world dramatically does this. With all the technology, devices, sciences, and more; we do not understand how wrong it is to place all our trust in these things. Egypt and the surrounding nations found out the issue. So did Israel in a practical and extremely dangerous lesson to the House of Judah and to all Christians today. Whom or what do you place your trust in.

Lords Deliverance is what Israel would experience. It is the same kind of deliverance many believers and even Israel look forward too. Should the enemy come in at your gate, or stop there at; what do you do? As Israel found out that hope in another nation would not do; so too they found that trust in Jehovah would bring deliverance. It indeed came. With the new covenant and our Lord Jesus Christ we find deliverance from sins and lusts of the flesh, along with desires of the mind. Yet in the practical world you will need the Lord to bring deliverance to you when the enemy comes searching. Worldwide, persecuted Christians seek this deliverance.
