Everyday faith is woven into the fabric of one another. To pray, praise, confess and anoint is the power that props up those that are weary. Faith for others will refresh and encourage the discouraged. We must fight the lies that tell us not to intrude or reveal too much about our sin to others. Life, faith and others will create a resilient faith. Faith is personal but never private.

Every day, there are things bidding for our affection and they feed on our internal desires. This creates conflict within ourselves and in relationships. How we counter the pull of the world is to submit to God, draw near to him, resist the Devil and he will flee. We cannot underestimate the power of the devil in his desire to sabotage our faith.

When we think about faith, we don’t often attach it to wisdom. But, when you look at this section of James, you begin to realize that faith is infused from wisdom that comes from God. James warns against wisdom from below. He calls it earthly, unspiritual and demonic. In this talk we will expose some of the worldly wisdom that stands in opposition to wisdom from above.

You might be familiar with the phrase, “actions speak louder than words”. Well, with faith, this is true. We can talk a good talk, but when the real test of faith is in our actions that reveal our faith. To have our faith mature we need to be living it out as we express it through the patterns of everyday. One writer said, “A workless faith is a worthless faith.”

Your attitude matters to the outcome of faith. Often when facing daily life pressure we carry an attitude that short circuits the work that God is doing to mature our faith. When the trials come, and they will, we need to keep the end results of that trial in mind, crown of life. This crown speaks to the life we can have now, and the life where we receive the crown when Jesus returns.
