Vitamin D, probably the most widely known, has a large impact on our health. Living in the UK, we do not get enough sunlight for at least half of the year, further increasing our risk of deficiency. With more companies offering vitamin supplementation, should we know more about their effects? Do we know safe dosing limits? What monitoring is required? This information has been known to have been omitted from the packaging leading to hospital admissions due to over supplementation leading to endocrine and electrolyte disturbances.
