Spiritually, we are like those outcasts in 2 Kings —broken, numb, and in desperate need of salvation. And just like the lepers we have 3 choices—stay and die in sin, return to a dying world, or surrender fully to God’s mercy through Jesus Christ, who alone offers true life.

We are to have a deeper intimacy with God, genuine fear and reverence for Him, and a wholehearted commitment to live a holy life according to Christ’s example. Reflect on your reverence for God, proximity to God does not guarantee surrender or holiness.

Many Christians may have accepted the gospel and been baptized in water but remain unaware or unempowered by the Holy Spirit. There are 2 distinct baptisms in the Bible, the baptism of water and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The latter is essential for true empowerment to live a Christlike life and be an effective witness in the world.

Salvation is not a one-time event but a daily, intentional process of dying to the flesh. We are to focus on heavenly realities rather than earthly distractions. Are you renewing your mind?
