U.S. President hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UAE Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah bin Zayed and Bahrain Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid al Zayani at the White House Tuesday to sign the so-called Abraham Accords, normalizing relations between the three nations. A Department of Homeland Security official said in a whistleblower complaint released Wednesday that he was pressured by more senior officials to suppress facts in intelligence reports that President Donald Trump might find objectionable, including information about Russian interference in the election and the rising threat posed by white supremacists.  DHS whistleblower, Brian Murphy also alleges he was reassigned after pushing back. A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security has since released a statement in response to the allegations saying, "DHS looks forward to the results of any resulting investigation and we expect it will conclude that no retaliatory action was taken against Mr. Murphy.”

Belarusian protest leader Maria Kolesnikova has reportedly been detained at the border with Ukraine, a day after her allies said she had been grabbed off the street by masked men. The circumstances of her attempted journey to Ukraine are not immediately clear, with some media reports initially suggesting she had made it across the border, something border guards on both sides later denied.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday said Russian President Vladimir Putin critic Alexy Navalny who is in intensive care in a Berlin hospital, was poisoned with a Soviet-style nerve agent in an attempt to murder him. The German government said that testing by a German military laboratory showed "proof without a doubt of a chemical nerve agent from the Novichok group."  Experts say the findings point strongly to Russian state involvement.  Merkel demanded answers from Moscow. The Berlin hospital treating Navalny remains on a ventilator though his condition is improving. It said Navalny faces a long recovery and couldn't rule out long-term effects on his health.
