Love has been overrated, underrated, The word has been used and abused until the question is often asked, what IS Love? I know a song that asks the question, what’s love got to do with it? The song went on to say that it’s a second-hand emotion.  We as humans know when we’ve been loved, and we know when we’ve been deprived of love. Love is a big deal.   • Exploring Tithing Part 2

    Out of the Abundance of the heart the Hands giveth!

    Audience: Believers in the Body of

    Christ.

    Aim: To free believers from The

    condemnation of not being a Tither and to live an abundant life under the Law
    of Christ.

    Style: I use Scriptures to lead my audience to a

    conclusion.

    The punchline will be upfront and throughout.

    Summary: We all as believers desire to please God and want

    to be blessed and be a blessing to others. Under the new covenant, this comes
    out of a relationship with Our Heavenly Father through His son Jesus the
    Messiah. His sheep hears His voice, and they follow Him. Therefore a believer
    listens to the Holy Spirit for instructions with regards to giving which
    supersedes the restrictions of tithing and brings much greater rewards. There
    is no curse on the New Covenant believer who follows the spirit regarding their
    giving.

  • Exploring Tithing Part 1

    Belief about Tithing

    “Out of the abundance of the heart the hands giveth”

    Once again, to whom much is given, much is required.

     

    Audience: A Young person who has just accepted Christ.

    Aim: To teach them how to begin to prosper financially

    Style: Using Scriptures to take you on a journey

    Punchline: At the end

     

    The word tithe means one tenth of a person’s increase and

    The earliest record of tithing in the old testament is in

    Genesis 14:18 – 20

    when Abraham was returning from battle and gave one tenth of

    everything to The king of Salem and also a priest of God called Melchizedek.
    The next recorded instance of tithing is in

    Genesis 28:10-22 when Jacob dreamed of a stairway to

    heaven. God then promised to give the land to Jacob and His descendants. Jacob
    then vowed to give back a tenth of all the Lord would give Him.

    With these two instances, we see a voluntary act of giving

    back to God for His deliverance and blessings.

    We now on move to The Children of Israel who under the Laws

    of Moses tithing became a law. It was instituted because 11 of the 12 tribes of
    Israel received land as an inheritance except the tribe of Levi which were
    known as the Levitical priesthood and so the other tribes had to pay tithes to
    them to support them.  This was their
    inheritance and when you gave to them, you gave to God.  The Israelites were even accused of robbing
    God when they withheld their tithes and offerings. This is found in

    Malachi 3:8-12 NLT

    8 “Should people cheat God? Yet you

    have cheated me!

    “But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat

    you?’

    “You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to

    me. 9 You are under a curse, for your whole nation
    has been cheating me. 10 Bring all the tithes into
    the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says
    the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for
    you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it
    in! Try it! Put me to the test! 11 Your crops will
    be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease.[⁠a⁠] Your grapes will not
    fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the Lord of Heaven’s
    Armies. 12 “Then all nations will call you blessed,
    for your land will be such a delight,” says the Lord of Heaven’s
    Armies.

     

    I now want to move onto some New testament Scriptures and

    see what The Lord Jesus had to say about tithing.

     

    Matthew 23:23 NLT

    23 “What sorrow awaits you teachers

    of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe
    even the tiniest income from your herb gardens,[⁠g⁠] but you ignore the
    more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe,
    yes, but do not neglect the more important things.

    Hi everyone and welcome to Episode 8 of my new season’s podcast in which I have been making Vocal Points about our Personal Identity. Who am I? Identity, how did I get here? Conception/beginning, why am I here? Purpose, here to do something. Where am I going? Destiny. I believe that our Identity comes before purpose. If you don’t know who you are, you cannot do what you are supposed to do. #identityb4purpose. This week I want to mention the US general elections. As the US goes through a Midterm election, and I have incorporated it into this week’s podcast one of last season's sermons as I believe it is still relevant asks the questions about our personal identity. What Identifies you? How can someone tell that you are of a particular persuasion by looking at you? Is it the clothes that you wear? your accent? how you speak? So, what is it that would make one know that you are for example a Democrat or a Republican? The colours that you wear at election time?

  • “Rishi Sunak The First!”

    So now we have a newly appointed Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The first non-white, brown, to be more specific, Asian, and a Hindu to occupy that position. The youngest Prime Minister for 200 years! Earlier this year he was listed in the Sunday Times Rich List, The, first politician to ever be listed since it began in 1989. He and his wife have a combined wealth of £730m pounds. His wife’s father is a Billionaire and one of if not the richest person in India. There are a lot more firsts that I haven’t mentioned, I’m sure.

    I said in my previous podcasts that Kings are not elected they do not go through the democratic process where the people decide. But what we see here is someone appointed in the position. He fits the bill.

  • Woman King!!!

    Now, in my last episode, I mentioned that I was going to watch the movie, The Woman King and I did! The title was in keeping with my previous episodes about The Queen, Kings, Kingdoms, splendor, majesty, dominion, Authority, and Power.  To be very brief, the film was about a female army that protected a kingdom. To be a part of that army the women were not allowed to marry and have children. They were fierce and well-trained. They caused male armies to retreat, and they overcame the Europeans that invaded their territory and the local armies that helped them. They impacted the slave trade by also providing alternative produce like palm oil for trading. It is based on a true story that took place in Africa. The leader of the army was crowned a Woman King, not a queen. She didn’t marry the Male King. This to me is an interesting and important point about Identity. Was she a queen or was she actually a King? A female King. Just the same as a Male king.

    Humanity is going through an Identity crisis. We have lost our way. We don’t know who we are, why we are here, and where we are going. There is a deep sense of loss. There is this search for happiness, peace of mind, and meaning to our existence. Many of us feel trapped in our environment, our cultures, our jobs, our religion, and our relationships. Surely there must be more to life than this?
