S2 EP 16 - Holding focus on what is important - Strategies
We apologize for being away for a few weeks, with the Hong Kong Lockdowns and health concerns it's been a while since we posted. We miss you all and are excited to share this LONG podcast unedited just for you the Vocal Visionaries!
Then we discussed why focusing on the conversation and what the point of this conversation is, to not derail yourself don’t do not allow yourself to be derailed by your thoughts of rejection or concern for yourself that you’re not saying what you need to say but in terms of just being with the conversation if you can focus on what’s important on that it doesn’t matter the outcome of the conversation because it’s an ongoing thing especially if you’re planning on having this conversation is for the future relationship to continue, You will have time to revisit these conversations in the future knowing that if you’re focusing on ally then that you are not listening to you so what is important is what’s important to the conversation
In this episode, we discuss: Keeping the conversation on track - redirecting techniques.
We all want to keep the conversation on track so know where you’re at within the interaction. We share how many times the conversation will go off track because the other person will redirect the conversation, for multiple reasons, maybe because they feel uncomfortable having a conversation at that time or oftentimes whether not we realize it odd chats also seem to take the conversation off track. If we’re scared to say something to bring it back we miss the opportunity to drive this point home especially if you’re talking about something it’s very difficult. Today we talk about to help you get back on track
In this episode, we talk about how to lead the conversations where it's going, why identity and context are so important. Now we can lead the conversation in the direction it goes, not as some sort of manipulation but in an effort to make sure the tactical chat becomes valuable for both involved.
1. What is the outcome you're looking to achieve?
2. What is the best-case scenario?
3. What is the worst-case scenario?
4. What would it look like if the conversation was never had, whats the impact of that?
In this episode, we talk about. what is the context? It's the overall theme of the message, the place where we are coming from where anything said in this space is allowed yet also geared toward why we are even having this interaction in the first place. It's a space to always go back to if needed.
In this episode we talk about how to identify what needs to be said, I mean we all struggle with saying what we want to say, right? Maybe it's because we fear the reaction of someone else, or we don't know what that means for the conversation. Let's dive into both ideas and are clear on what needs to be said before we chat. So today we talk about ways to see how it will go and then we can be clear about what we want to say to get an intended result.
In this episode, we talk abotu why we all must pre-pair for the conversation, we talk about specific steps you can do to get ready to have the talk that you have been waiting for in order to be intentional. Its not about speaking just yet, we discuss the ways of being, and really preparing what we know will be said so that we don't react in that moment. Enjoy a few stories along the way as we prepare you for that chat.
In this episode, we talked about how to have intentional conversations, continue listening for Part 2.
In this episode we talked about how to have intentional conversations, why you should focus on the intent in the beginning, what does it take to be intentional with the time you have to say what you need to say, we shared things that stop us and moments where we were intentional and how it worked out for us.
In this episode we talk about how to lead a breakthrough conversation, we share the steps to take that can open up a space of comfort, for your self and others, that leads to having a breakthrough.
