In 2013 Todd Cassity started the songs suffragettes with founding member Kalie Shorr in a small room in the listening cafe. Forward nearly 10 years later and they sell out every Monday night in the listening room, it streams on you tube and the song suffragettes came to the UK for country music week touring Glasgow London and Manchester with sold out shows. Voice of a Woman talked to Kalie Shorr, Carter Faith, Robyn Ottolini and Twinnie about these organisations along with I know a Woman and the importance of them and what differences they are making in the music industry as well as supporting each other in that which is so important.

This song writers round was so good in the way that each of these talented ladies has a style their very own and rocked it throughout the rounds and it was a joy and a pleasure to hear their voices in this podcast in all they have to say and their experiences in the industry. I spoke with the fabulous Kelley Swindall on her last journey over to the UK when she played Glastonbury, did some headline shows and did support for an artist in the UK and Ireland. I listened back to this chat and it is so interesting and as Kelley has just released more live dates for Nov and Dec this seemed to be a good time to put this out and reminisce about the night we had, seeing her live and celebrating music and her journey in music. Robyn Red talks to Voice of a Woman. Robyn is a uk country artist just outside of Glasgow and has been on the scene now for a few years and has released her debut single today, 17/06/2022. She has a powerful voice and is on of the most exciting young artists on the scene at the moment and this single is the start of new music from Robyn who has already performed at prestigious venues such as King Tuts and at C2C in the spotlight stage in Glasgow Hydro. Voice of a Woman catches up with Lorraine Nash ahead of the festival season. Galway Folk festival has it's first festival this month from now till Sunday (15 to 19th June) with acts such as the Henry Girls and Aoife Scott amongst others appearing there. We catch up with Lorraine to see what is going on with music, live appearances and we also digress to chatting about camping and all it is about, If anyone wants to know about how the camping went for Voice of a Woman then just ask. Lorraine Nash is a rising star within the folk scene in Ireland and has had substantial support for RTE radio. 

Celine Ellis is a UK country music artist who has released her Debut EP 'Unravelled' last month. What happened when Voice of a Woman and Celine Ellis met online for a zoom chat? This, we talked about everything and anything and had what can only be described as a good girly natter, chinwag and just an open and honest discussion and I loved it! It was a chat with a friend and we will be meeting up at the LITLR event in the Bedford this Sunday at the Bedford in aid of Dementia UK with so many more friends and artists in the scene.
