The time has come when the church needs to return to an emphasis on discipleship. And if this is the case, there is a need to understand the original template of discipleship from the scriptures, and that is why we began to look at the discipleship system of Jesus.
In this episode, the focus is on understanding the discipleship system of Jesus Christ. Building on the foundation from the previous episode, it emphasizes that discipleship is essential to living a Christ-filled life. The distinction between being filled with the Spirit and having Christ formed within us is crucial, as discipleship is a lifelong process requiring continuous learning, application of Christ's teachings, and active participation in the church community.
The episode stresses that the great commission Jesus gave wasn’t to raise Christians but to make disciples. Today's church often emphasizes external markers such as large congregations and church buildings, but the core mission remains discipling believers to follow Christ authentically. A true disciple embodies a lifetime commitment to learning and living out Christ's teachings while guiding others to do the same. The episode critiques the modern church's focus on appearances, arguing that true discipleship is reflected in Christ-like behavior and transformation, not in titles or church attendance.
One thing about discipleship is that it's more than just going to Church and being a member of a Church, or even a worker or a preacher in Church. It is the disciples who were called Christians in Antioch. So the tag Christian was the name the world gave to who they were, which is ‘disciples’.
In this episode, the focus is on the discipleship system of Jesus and its centrality in a Christ-centered life. The episode highlights that discipleship is the pathway to having Christ fully formed in us, based on Galatians 4:19. It emphasizes that true discipleship is more than attending church or holding a religious title; it's about aligning with the teachings of Christ and living a life that reflects His principles. The episode serves as a call for believers to engage deeply in discipleship, ensuring that their faith is rooted in Christ
The formation of Christ in us is not the same thing as the infilling of the Spirit. The infilling of the spirit can happen in an instance. But the forming of Christ in us, or what you can call the informing of Christ, is never instant, but a process. This process of Christ being formed in us, is what the system called “Discipleship” sponsors.
In this episode, the focus is on the process of discipleship and its critical role in living a Christ-filled life. The concept of a "Christful" life—a life where Christ is fully formed—takes center stage. Discipleship, as explained, is not a one-time event but a lifetime commitment involving studying the Word of God, applying it in daily life, and being an active member of a community of believers. The episode emphasizes that true discipleship is key to spiritual growth, distinguishing genuine Christians as those who continually learn and live by the teachings of Christ. The episode also highlights the importance of community in discipleship, urging believers to actively participate in fellowships rather than live in isolation.
What does it mean to be a Christian? What does it mean for Christ to be formed in us?
This episode delves into the "Christful" life—living a life completely full of Christ. Rooted in Galatians 4:19, it explores how Christianity has become more about identification than embodying the essence of Christ. The Christful life calls believers to move beyond superficial labels and into a deep transformation that reflects Christ in everything. In a time when the line between Christianity and the world is blurred, this episode challenges listeners to embrace authentic discipleship and Christ-centered living.
Grace works in a mysterious way. Grace qualifies the unqualified, gives an advantage to the disadvantaged, and makes the last the first. It is one thing to know what grace is, and another to understand how grace works.
In this episode, we end our series of teachings on grace by looking into how grace works.
According to Myles Munroe, the wealthiest place on the planet is the cemetery. This is because in the cemetery lies great potentials, talents, and gifts that are buried without being tapped. God endows people with gifts for a purpose. It is a tragedy to live life without exploiting and maximizing the deposits of God’s gift in you.
In this episode, we explore what we need to know, and how we can maximize the gift of God in our lives.
Gifts are abilities and endowments that God gives a man or a woman. God endows people with gifts for the fulfillment of their purpose, which is tied to God’s agenda. This is why purpose dictates the gifts that a person can have, and gifts can point to a person's purpose. However, can a gift (given by God) be operated and function without God? Can gifts (including spiritual gifts and ministry gifts) function in isolation of the Holy Spirit?
In this episode, we seek to answer these questions, and we take a deeper dive into understanding gifts as a manifestation of grace.
One of the ways that God’s grace is manifested are gifts. A gift is simply an ability that God gives to a person. When a gift comes in the form of an ability, that ability is a product of the Holy Spirit working in you to do a particular thing. A gift at work in the life of a person can make him or her do what others cannot do with their natural ability.
In this episode, we begin a series of gifts, as we explore what gifts are and the classes or categories of gifts that God gives believers.
Favour is an expression of grace. Just like Jesus grew in favour with God and with men, we can enjoy favour with God and men and grow in it. Men are God’s channels of favour. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, we see God enabling people to find favour with me. However, are the requirements for divine favour in the Old covenant (which the Old Testament speaks of) different from the requirements in the New Covenant (which the New Testament speaks of)?
In this episode, we end the series on divine favour by exploring the requirements for walking in the reality of divine favour based on the New Covenant.
Growth is proof of life. Growth is the key to depth and fullness. When it comes to spiritual things, our depth in any experience is a function of our growth in that experience. Bringing this home to the subject of favour, it is not enough to experience favour at one time or the other. There is a place for growing in favor. In Luke 2:52, the bible says “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man”. Jesus not only grew in favour with God.He grew in favour with men. So if Jesus had to grow in favor, who are we to think that we can be excluded from the need to grow in favour with men.
In this episode, we examine some powerful keys and tips to growing in favour with men. These are tips that are not so obvious, but must be engaged to grow in favour.
