Ginger coming on today and sharing for those who are not aware after 30+yrs is a very brave thing to do, to verbalise in this way as a first. As unless one has served or been in a situation like this, only then can one be truly grateful for the time that Ginger came on this podcast to share with us as this does leave us vulnerable and open and also raises past memories that you do not see or hear about how this affects each person behind the scenes. * Part of what was called a ‘social experiment’ a Trailblazer for women being of the first to transition from the WRAN to the RAN in the early 1980’s

* Belongs to a support group of victims of abuse in defence who have been silent achievers and proactive in making changes to the military comp system and coming forward with litigation cases that are setting precedent for others to follow 

* Was left Totally & Permanently Incapacitated (TPI) at the age of 22 years old in 1986 after four years in Navy permanent forces. Which caused from all forms of abuse imaginable - sexual, medical, administrative, Rankism, physical, financial, legal and psychological, which Ginger refers to as being tortured. This includes legal and administrative paperwork when ever dealing with matters to do with historical abuse in defence 

* For the past 13 years, since DLA Piper Inquiry/DART restitution process ( 2011-2015 ) Ginger has been activity involved in fighting her own military trauma case as well as lobbying for the Royal commission into ADF and DVA . While also a victims of abuse advocate (voluntary) who assists claimants navigate their claims.

A reminder that due to being able to relate to what others are sharing there will be a flow of asking/sharing and this is deliberate to have a more natural flow, in what is very real and raw for everyone who comes on and today. This is about Voicing to Heal in revealing and sharing from one’s depths of personal experiences with many verbally sharing the first time after 30yrs which has a profound life changing effect to all who come on here so bravely, thankyou for taking the time to listen.

Voice to Heal Get Real & Feel Consciously #2 Birthing Trauma with Corrie Hardaker. 'So many women I know have experienced traumatic birth and it is still not really talked about. I wanted to share my story to make a call for more compassion in birthing and to raise awareness of when things go wrong - the effects can be years in the healing - not just for the mother, but the child, partner and wider circle. The mother-child bond is so fundamentally important to create a firm foundation for all going forward. My wish is that all experience the compassion, gentleness and loving support they need at this most vulnerable time".

Raw and Real Corrie shares her personal/private deep past trauma’s relating to giving birth to her son & daughter resulting in an emotional break-down, which led to the beginning of her healing Journey. Breaking-down-to-break-free and here is her story!  There is much more to this as how could such negligence happen still to this day?

Christina McCaig bravely opens up for the 1st time in over 30yrs. This is in-fact a 1st Podcast in Australia in Veteran’s sharing their personal abuse/trauma stories that occurred in the 1980’/90’s. Before any equality was in place as there is no time frame, a time of much hidden abuse for females/males. With no where to go and no one to tell and if one did, it was shut down or ignored or one was told to put up, shut up and carry on.

We are hearing real truths for the first time in Australia in Leading the Way  

Christina has come forward in the past, from a complaint to the Equal Opportunity Commission that resulted in Defence reviewing their policies on bullying and harassment. This was then followed by participation in two studies, one on the treatment of women in defence as well as a study into Abuse in the Defence Force. Christina's journey also included participation in the Defence Abuse Taskforce (DART) in 2012 and latterly two submissions to the Royal Commission into Veteran's Suicide. One of which spoke about the damaging impact of NDA's(Non Disclosure Agreement's) on already traumatised veterans and preventing diagnosis and management of mental health issues following service. 

Being an advocate in blazing a new trail and in being the first paid female to be in a RAAF Band in Australia. Christina has spoken up and shared her deepest trauma’s to us here in this incredible show of when she was stalked and raped and she does so to have the story out for other women/men who have similar experiences, so they don’t feel on their own.
