Jaspreet Boporai is a wife, mum of two kids (6, 4) and a dairy farmer. She and her husband manage 1500 cows over two farms in Western Southland for a large equity partnership. She and her husband moved to NZ in 2009, swapping 80 hour weeks in corporate banking for longer weeks in farming! (Her husband has done his MBA and Jaspreet was a mortgage underwriter in India).

Jaspreet's family has been serving in the Indian army for many generations and nearly 30 years ago, her dad served in the Indian army contingent under the aegis of the United Nations in Africa. Thus, began her interest in all things UN related!

In this series she discusses what the UN Agenda looks like in New Zealand via the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In this initial discussion they provide a background to the United Nations and their global Agenda including how it came to be adopted in NZ.

Dr. Bhakdi was born in Washington, DC, and educated at schools in Switzerland, Egypt, and Thailand.

He studied medicine at the University of Bonn in Germany, where he received his MD in 1970. He was a post-doctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg and at The Protein Laboratory in Copenhagen. 👨🏽‍⚕️

He joined the Institute of Medical Microbiology at Giessen University in 1977 and was appointed associate professor in 1982. He was named chair of Medical Microbiology at the University of Mainz in 1990, where he remained until his retirement in 2012.

He is the most cited microbiologist in German academic history. 👨🏽‍🔬

Dr. Bhakdi has published over three hundred articles in the fields of immunology, bacteriology, virology, and parasitology, for which he has received numerous awards and the Order of Merit of Rhineland-Palatinate. 🏆

Reiner is a German lawyer admitted to the bar (and therefore qualified to practice) in Germany and California (USA). He has over 26 years of experience practising law, primarily as a trial lawyer. He has acted against fraudulent corporations such as Deutsche Bank and VW. Reiner is also one of four members of the German Corona Investigative Committee.

Since July 10th 2020, this Committee has been listening to many international scientists' and experts' testimonies to find answers to questions about the corona crisis, which more and more people worldwide are asking.
