On Sunday, July 19, the Rev. Deacon Paul Daniels preached a sermon he titled "Make Ye No Idol of Progress" where he draws on the parable of the weeds among the wheat to remind us that Jesus teaches of a world that will always involve good and evil, which means that our work to root out evil is also never finished.

On Sunday, July 12, the Reverend Canon Patrick Malloy, Sub-Dean of the Cathedral, reflected on the Parable of the Sower and its resonance with the uncertainties of contemporary life, including the difficult questions raised by the murder of George Floyd and the growth of the Black Lives Matter movement.

On Sunday, July 5, The Reverend Pamela Cooper-White preached on the persistence of American racism and the triumph of radical hope.

On Sunday, June 28, we were introduced to the Cathedral's newest Deacon, the Rev. Paul Daniels, and learned about his interest in Howard Thurman and discovering New York City on foot, as well as why he's excited to join the Cathedral Community. On Sunday, June 21, The Rev. Deacon Kent Curtis preached on the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement and how systemic change might seem overwhelming and impossible but we, as Christians, know that through Christ all things are possible.

On Sunday, May 10, Wisdom Year resident Jennifer Allen preached on Saint Stephen, the original church innovator. It's easy to point out the exclusion of others, she said, but harder to look inward. She asked us to challenge ourselves to acknowledge the limitations we've consciously or unconsciously created and seek to reimagine a church without any barriers.
