Bill Maiden has lived an extraordinary American life. Born into a coal miner's family, Bill was raised by sharecroppers who taught him the value of hard work, while his mother made sure he knew the love of God. Bill is a trailblazer. He was among the first African-Americans to serve in the United States Marine Corps, ultimately receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor. He also broke the color barrier in both community and church, and through it all, his relationship with God has been his strength and his song.
