Fancy a spot of Burlesque?
Well why don't you pull up a chair and join me Deirdre O'Connell as I strip back the layers from the Hastings' local Burlesque scene with Pupin DeVert - Hastings' very own Burlesque Punk.
Pupin DeVert is a fabulous performer who as well as being absolutely gorgeous, puts in a terrific comedy performance as well as producing many shows in the local Hastings area. Catch us ladies chatting backstage nerves, post show pints, on stage buzz, Burlesque History and Puppy feet. Meet Boylesque performers, a sexy feather boa snake, Eastbourne's Caberet Cerises and if you fancy peeling back the layers yourself, Pupin DeVert will meet you on the dance floor.....
You want more? C'mon down and enjoy the show Dx
Quick question....... what do preserved lemons, dialled in coffee or America Ground have in common?
Or how about Saffron, Chai tea or Podenco dogs?
Yes, they all feature in this week's Voices of Hastings podcast. Today we are out 'n about chatting to locals and grabbing a couple of recipes amongst all the chit-chat. We catch Nadia before she opens her green trailer for business and get an insight into some wonderful Moroccan home cooking. And aside from her own carefully crafted and unique Falafel spice mix, we discover the real secret ingredient of her culinary success.
Then we shift gears and have a coffee with Stew, our coffee man. We perch by the church and natter about all manner of things. His mastermind topic is coffee of course but a quick shifty about the history of America Ground and rescue dogs also get a mention. And let's not forget where that name Stooge came from.
So put your feet up for 5 and join me your host Deirdre O'Connell as we take another lively look around Hastings.
Thanks for joining me and Enjoy
Fancy a trip to the seaside?
Well join me and my guest as we chat about the artistic Fun 'n Frolics we enjoyed at Hastings Contemporary Seaside Modern exhibition. We spent a couple of hours down in Hastings Rock A Nore in the company of Quentin Blake, TS Lowry and Eric Ravilious. Give yourselves a treat and feast your ears on the delights of this Seaside Modern exhibition with me, your host Deirdre O'Connell.
Afterwards we enjoyed a well earned slice of home-made lemon drizzle cake on the cafe balcony as we savoured the delights of the exhibition and the higgeldy-piggledy Rock A Nore view.
Enjoy Dee.
