I have known Luke Livingston, his brothers and his family for many many years. So it was an absolute pleasure to have him as a guest on the most recent Voices of Indy podcast. Luke's band, Boyhood Bravery, have been a hit on the indie folk circuit in Indianapolis. While they've been on hiatus for a couple of years, Luke and Boyhood Bravery are working on their next project and even debuted a song, Two Chords, on the most recent Voices of Indy Livestream.

On this week's podcast Colby Holmes of the band Status Foe joined Josh for his companion podcast to the monthly live stream. Colby is the lead singer for Status Foe and talks about how his band came together, the origins of their first album Propagated Sounds and how their second album, Falling Awake, saw the band really come together and form their own sound. We also get insights into how the band operates and how their live shows come together when many of the band members can play multiple instruments. This was a fun show to really dive deep into how the band operates as opposed to a solo artist.

 -My guests this week were local pop artist Emma Peridot along with One Dollar Bill. Emma and One Dollar Bill were my guests on the monthly live stream and stayed a bit to chat on the podcast. Did you know that Indianapolis has a vibrant theatre scene? I certainly didn't before I started looking into it. My first podcast covering Indy's theatre scene seeks to subvert expectations on what you expect theatre to be. I converse with Susan Galey Jones and Ms. Latrice of Small Change Interactive who specialize in playback and interactive theatre? Don't know what that is? Episode three features mixed media artist, Kate Oberreich. Kate is an Indianapolis based painter employing multiple mediums including water media, cyanotype, embroidery, and collage. Kate's work often explores themes and narratives associated with the concept of finding home and community, both literally and figuratively.

During the month of March, Kate's most recent showing "Other People's Oceans" was the featured display in the Harrison Gallery at the Harrison Center for the Arts.

Bobby Donnelly, originally from St. Louis, is a local solo musician who is also part of the band Huckleberry Funk. Bobby's music doesn't necessarily fit a genre, but definitely pulls from influences such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Mayer, and the Eagles. The podcast is loose, it's fun, it's sometimes a little obscene. It is definitely entertaining. 

Bobby's second album "So Blue" is being released in waves. The first wave can currently be heard everywhere you stream music.

The very first full episode of Voices of Indy features T.A. Parker. Originally from El Salvador, T.A. Parker is a physician with Riley Children's Hospital by trade and an Americana musician in his free time. Influenced by Tom Petty, Rage Against the Machine and the protest songs of his native El Salvador, T.A. found his voice early playing in bars.  Only recently has he been able to return to his love of making music. 

T.A. is wrapping up his debut EP, coming out in early summer, and is also working in his first Spanish language album as well. Check out T.A. Parker's music in the link below and give him a follow on his socials. T.A. is also featured on the Voices of Indy Spotify playlists, volumes 1 and 2.
