This week we kick off talking about the latest updates in crude oil and how sustained fuel prices are weighing heavily on many as we approach the midterm elections along with what may be a very cold winter in some part of the country that rely heavily on heating oil.
Afterwards we hit on the latest economic data along with a substantial earnings week ahead.
Then after the break we come back and skip right to Dork's Back end, but before that we get a song that hits a little too close for comfort, and we wrap up the episode with Stupid Bets!
Check it out, and be sure to get some popcorn for the generation discussion and Reaganomics banter!
Recorded Date - October 18th, 2026
Alright, this one went a little off the rails as Producer Ron got a little overly enthusiastic about the Bills game, while the gang broke down the recent news with CoreWeave, and whether or not the market overreacted, or if we're on the verge of something bigger!
They also picked up on the midterms, and what's really going on with politics, as well as some interesting thoughts on voting.
Then just before the break we get into the upcoming earnings and financial calendar and what the gang thinks about banks coming into this quarter.
After the break, we're right into Trading with Gammastrike, followed by Dork's Back End, and following up with Stupid Bets!
Make sure to credit Dork, and maybe a little credit to Producer Ron for their upping the production value with a new song for Dork's Back End, and a new commercial as well!

We've got Producer Ron filling in for Gherk this week, so you know what that means? A very AI focused episode of course! Join us as we discuss the recent challenges AI is presenting in the field of Mathematics, and whether or not the concerns are overblown with software being reverse engineered and what that could mean for software providers.
We also get into this week's earnings season which starts back off with bank earnings, and then we also touch on the economic calendar and what we'll be looking at this upcoming week.
After the break, we get to last week's "Trading with Gammastrike", before we get into audience questions, and we close out the episode with "Stupid Bets".

Woah! Somehow we made it to 52 episodes, meaning we've managed to put out a year of Vol Stars episodes! To celebrate we've got a great episode for you!
Starting in the first half, we cover a recent article written by JFresh on X which asks fundamental questions about US debt and what it really mans for the market. We also cover the economic calendar and earnings for the upcoming week.
Into the second half, we get into "Trading with Gammastrike", before answering audience questions, and then take a little time to celebrate and enjoy the 1 year milestone with Vol Stars by looking back and listening to some listener well wishes! Then of course we get into Stupid Bets to close this episode out!

In our latest episode of Vol Stars, JFresh, Gherk, and Dork pop the hood on the AI hype machine to reveal the dodgy accounting and wishful thinking. The gang breaks gets into Oracle's "force majeure" cop-out on its Project Jupiter buildout, exposing the bizarre world of off-balance-sheet shell companies, loop-holed "take or pay" contracts and a joke of a security deposit.
Next, the gang reviews the mainstream "AI doomerism". Turns out most headline-grabbing security breaches aren't Skynet waking up; they’re just lazy devs failing to lock their sandboxes. Beyond tech slop, the conversation branches into macro chaos, including unusual equity markets, compressed credit spreads, and what happens to energy prices now that the strategic petroleum reserve is running on fumes?
Wrapping up, the boys run through their options setups for Google, SMCI, and Nike in "Trading with Gamma Strike", tackle listener mail about Meta's shady off-book accounting and banking capital rules, and lock in their latest round of questionable predictions for "Stupid Bets".

Episode 50 is finally here! This week's episode starts off with discussion about the Fed's rate decision and how we're seeing it with other banks globally and what that means for the markets. We then get into discussing what a 23 hour trading day will look like, and just how much extra work the Gammastrike team will have on their plates for the next few months to accommodate it! We then get into this week's earnings and review the economic calendar.
Back from the break we've got a great second half with the results coming in for the first return of "Trading with Gammastrike", as well as the gang's picks for this week. We then get to hear a new world premiere of "Dork's Back End" followed by a great audience questions section! Finally we close out this momentous episode with Stupid Bets!
Note this week's episode references a post by Gherk on X which you should check out here where he talks about an AI bailout - https://x.com/gherkinit/status/2101381245947322391

Starting off this week, the gang gets into the Macro tug-of-war going on between Bessent and Warsh and what they think is going to happen there. Followed by discussing the recent delays in AI IPOs and what that may signal about a broader economy. It wouldn't be a good episode too without touching on the latest situation in Iran and oil as well! Followed by touching on the upcoming rate decision.
Into the second half we finally get back to resuming "Trading with Gammastrike", with some solid picks this week, before getting into a ton of great audience questions, and then Stupid Bets!
Recorded Date - September 6th, 2026
I didn't think they could do it, but the boys delivered a sub 90 minute Labor Day Weekend episode to put take the summer out in style!
This week's episode features the gang talking about the recent bond market troubles, the jobs report, and Trump's pressure on lowering interest rates and how that relates to the market.
JFresh also gets into the latest in AI with Astra, (leading to our title this week), and for his full write up on it go check it out on X - here
After the break we come back with a much shorter audience questions section, before getting into Stupid Bets and learning just how many jalapeno's were in Broadcom's recent earnings call!
Recorded Date - August 30th, 2026
We're back with another packed episode, with this week our focus being on the tariff wars with Canada, followed by getting into the recent accelerating inflation in Japan and what that may spell for a BoJ rate hike!
We then get into a little about what's going on at Jackson Hole and the gang discuss their thoughts on Warsh and what they think he's likely to do.
We also make sure to cover the latest on NVDA's earnings and it wouldn't be an episode without some lively discussion on the realities of datacenters.
Coming back from the break, we get to audience questions, the gang talks about a new feature deployed for Beta subscribers on Gammastrike, and we close out with Stupid Bets!
Please note this week's episode used a slightly different audio editing technique which may cause some increase in background noise but should help with addressing some "cut-out" issues we've seen on other episodes.
This week's episode of Vol Stars starts off with a breakdown on the recent actions by Bessent, we get into what he's trying to do, and how the market responded to it, and what that means for the Fed!
Next we get into talking about tariffs, what's going on in Canada, and what about those refunds we keep hearing about?
Looking at the calendar this week too we've got $NVDA reporting earnings and what the gang thinks about what Jensen Huang is going to report.
After the break we come back and get to some really solid audience questions (thanks as always everyone!). Before getting into this week's Stupid Bets!
Please note that "Producer Ron" guest co-hosted in this episode due to Dork getting stuck exploring his back-end and the relationship it has with GasBuddy.
