“He Has Done Great Things for Me”
Today’s reading from Luke 1:46-56 captures Mary’s song of praise, known as the Magnificat. In this poetic declaration, Mary magnifies the Lord for His faithfulness, mercy, and strength, rejoicing in the great things God has done for her and His people. Her words serve as a timeless reminder of God’s steadfast love and His provision for the humble and hungry.
Mary’s statement, “He who is mighty has done great things for me,” invites us to pause and reflect on the blessings in our own lives. Even amidst imperfections and challenges, God’s goodness surrounds us. Today, take on the gratitude challenge: list the people, moments, and gifts in your life that remind you of His faithfulness.
Join us as we reflect on the blessings of God and cultivate hearts of gratitude this Advent season. May we, like Mary, magnify the Lord for His mercy and the great things He has done for us.
What is Advent? It is the season of remembering and rejoicing. We remember Christ’s first coming as a baby born in Bethlehem and joyfully anticipate his second coming, when he will return to renew and redeem every part of the fallen creation. The Advent season is a time to reflect upon God's promises and anticipate their fulfillment.
Join us on this journey of hope.
