As the away team returns with the sole survivor of the damaged ship, Voyager is attacked by unidentified vessels. Meanwhile, there's something not quite checking out with their guests' story...

When Voyager answers a distress call, they discover a damaged ship in an ion storm, and a deadly threat. A monster is clearly at work, but who are the monsters?

Diplomatic endeavours continue with the Annexorians, as the crew begin to learn about the Blexians, the 'evil' inhabitants of the neighbouring planet. The crew soon discover that they aren't so different, however.
