This episode was a roller coaster of an emotion. It starts off as a simple episode building the Doctor's character. A tiny wormhole is discovered which initially causes a lot of hope for a possible shortcut home, but ends up being just enough to communicate with a Romulan science officer in the Alpha quadrant.
