These two unlikely bedfellows could become kissing cousins in the very near future. More and more VR games are coming out with stylized retro graphics. Video games has 40-years worth of history behind it. It has allowed a gradual progression of expectation in terms of what a video game should be. Some people might consider VR as nothing more than a fad - a gimmick - and often compare it to technology that has been hailed as 'the next big thing', only to fail a few years later. It's a perfectly understandable opinion to have - we've been burned so many times in the past. The Wii, 3DTVs and the Kinect could all fall into the category of 'gimmicky tech'.
